This Privacy Policy explains how Zozo Technology Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”), operator of the ZozoEats food‑delivery platform, collects, uses and protects your personal data when you use our website, mobile apps and services (together, the “Service”). We are based in Coventry, United Kingdom, and we handle your data in line with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Who this applies to

ZozoEats is a marketplace connecting three types of users: customers who order food, restaurants that prepare it, and delivery partners (drivers) who deliver it. This policy covers all of them.

Information we collect

• Account details: your name, email address, phone number and password.
• Delivery information: your delivery address(es) and, with your permission, your GPS location. We use location to auto‑fill your address, show nearby restaurants, calculate delivery distance/fees and let you track your driver in real time.
• Order information: items ordered, delivery instructions, order history and the restaurants you order from.
• Payment information: card payments are processed securely by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not store your full card number — we only keep limited details (such as the card brand and last four digits) needed to show and reuse a saved card.
• Driver & restaurant onboarding data: for delivery partners and restaurants we collect verification documents, vehicle details (e.g. number plate), profile photos and payout details required to operate on the platform.
• Photos: delivery proof photos, order‑pickup photos and documents you upload for verification or refund requests.
• Technical data: device information, app version, log data and cookies/local storage used to keep you signed in and to operate the Service.

How we use your information

• To create and manage your account and let you sign in.
• To take, process and deliver your orders, including sharing the necessary details (name, address, phone, order, location) with the relevant restaurant and driver so your order can be prepared and delivered.
• To process payments, refunds and driver/restaurant payouts.
• To provide live order tracking, delivery ETAs and notifications (including a “your driver is nearby” alert).
• To verify delivery partners and restaurants and keep the platform safe.
• To provide customer support and handle disputes, cancellations and refunds.
• To detect and prevent fraud, and to meet our legal obligations.

Legal bases

We process your data to perform our contract with you (providing the Service), to comply with legal obligations, for our legitimate interests (operating and improving a safe marketplace), and — for optional location access and marketing — on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Sharing your information

We share data only as needed to run the Service, including with: the restaurant and driver fulfilling your order; Stripe (payments and payouts); mapping and address providers (OpenStreetMap, Google Maps and postcodes.io) to display maps and resolve addresses; and cloud hosting/storage providers. We may disclose data where required by law. We do not sell your personal data.

Location data

Location access is optional and controlled by your device permissions. Customers can use the Service by typing an address instead. Drivers share live location only while on duty so customers can track active deliveries. You can turn off location permissions at any time in your device settings.

Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, then for as long as required for legal, tax, accounting and dispute‑resolution purposes. You can ask us to delete your account and associated personal data (subject to records we must legally retain).

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your data, to object to processing, and to data portability. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@zozoeats.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

Children

The Service is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll post the updated version here and change the “Last updated” date.
